Not my favorite book. Unlikable and shallow characters with unrealistic and dry dialogue. It’s not funny but often tries to be. Also extremely noticeable that it’s all written by a man, unfortunately. I was looking forward to reading about a group of final girls working together to solve a mystery and defend themselves against someone who’s decided to hunt them down once more, but it wasn’t the smart, thrilling action story I expected. The climax is the most exciting part of it all, and the latter half beyond the midway point is much more fun to read than the first part, but it still stalls in a way that made it tedious to read throughout the middle of it.

I liked the early twist of Lynnette being the one who wrote the book, even if i saw it coming. Made me feel smart. Same with the eventual revelation of the two villains. It was easy, you just had to be wary of anyone being sort of nice to Lynnette.
