Lucifer's Daughter by Kel Carpenter
1.0
TRIGGER WARNING**** sexual assault (in both the book and my review)
Literally nothing happened in this book. Absolutely nothing.
In a paranormal book, it is pretty important that every event contributes to the plot. (This is also the case for most books.) In this book, nothing happened. Except for the part where Ruby was molested. For no reason. It didn’t contribute to the plot or explain anything about herself the story background.
We don’t learn about Ruby’s backstory at all, or what her childhood was like. She grew up in an orphanage, but we never hear about her experiences, like with her mother abandoning her. We don’t know anything about the Horsemen. We don’t know about Ruby’s best friend. The entire book was a game of “I’m right!” “No, I’m right!” between her and the horsemen. Ruby just wouldn’t believe she was the Devil’s daughter until the last page, much to my frustration.
Anyway, this book was a total waste. It was boring, there was no romantic connection between the characters, and we learned absolutely nothing about anyone.
