The plot kind of ruined it for me as I never accepted that Winston would have made such a deal.
Spoiler And if made while drugged and not in his right mind, I don't see it as being valid. And his kid's soul...
I cannot accept bargaining someone else's soul. Some of the twists at the end were good but how they stumbled upon them, not so much.

So along with the plot that got slightly better at the end, I didn't really like the characters most of the way through.. Their back and forth of guilt and whether the other one could accept... it just took away from them getting together. It was good for a moment but then kind of fizzled. Having the possibility that Poppy didn't love Win was a good twist but pretty much the only good thing for me in the relationship. Getting over their lies and the way they did it, just took any spark away.

So I had to pull myself to come back to this several times and it took a least a week to get through. Sometimes this is just because of timing but this was total lack of interest. I finished it and it was OK most of the way through and only truly good in a few parts.

Updates while reading==============

40% in and a bit disappointed both with how the two do/don't come together, then the turn.
Spoiler The demon shows up and says you made this deal 14 years ago. Winston never would have made that deal. Then... he decides to make an open ended deal and at the end the demon say, 'you have 4 days to find this woman or I get your first born?' What? If he already had the deal then why, why doesn't he just take the first born, period. Really? It is just so convoluted and out of characters.
This convoluted plot turn that is out of character actually took the slight care for the characters to disliking them both. Either the plot turn is a trick or I cannot take this.
