Hmmm what to say. This was a pretty decent book but it really paled in comparison to the first one. The first book had so much depth to it, but between the two, good vs evil was reduced to boys vs girls. It felt so much more juvenile and inconsequential.

I honestly didn’t know who to root for here either. Tedros had some good moments but he was mostly an idiot and he was kind of awful. Also, things were kind of confusing because Sophie wasn’t really all that bad. Agatha on the other hand had almost no character development and had about as much depth as a kiddie pool.

Not to mention, almost the entire story revolved around one big misunderstanding in the beginning. Like how did it take Agatha and Tedros an entire book to realize they weren’t out to get each other and it was all a mistake. Tedros was an idiot and Agatha was naive. It was kind of annoying and difficult to get through compared to the first one.

On the other side of that, the ending was really good and I thought the Dean’s character was a fun addition that added a lot to the story. I also enjoyed getting to see more mingling between the Evers and Nevers, and the girls valuing themselves as women and not just helpless arm candy. I just hope the third book has a little bit more to offer than this.
