Nightshade by Anthony Horowitz

4.0

(disclaimer: the stuff i mention in this review are somewhat negative because it's obvious for me personally that alex rider books are going to be terrific, so im just pointing out the worse stuff)

a minor complaint was i would have expected more character exploration in this book, especially because it had so much potential to explore alex/julius's minds. i had hoped it would be mentioned because at the beginning they said something about having to "get into julius's head", and i anticipated alex struggling to get out of julius's head or that he might be brainwashed by nightshade as well, but the plot didn't quite go that way. still it's a middle-grade/ya book so maybe i shouldn't have expected that much.
