I wish I had been able to get the first volume but my library never delivered it. The depiction was a fascinating new way for young people (or anyone i suppose) to approach the difficult material of the holocaust, but i didnt enjoy how the son treated his father, both as a son in general and especially after everything he had been through. It seemed like he was impatient with him and also demanding his painful story to write the book. Maybe i am not understanding the nuances but he seemed like he shouldve been gentler toward him
