This book is very different from what I expected. I thought it would be more of a mystical love story and it was for the most part but there is a lot more talk of irish independence and the politics behind it than I was expecting. It was a well told story but very dry at parts. I couldn't like the protagonist or get myself to care about her. But the saving grace for this book was the ending. It was beautiful and made me more emotional than I was expecting. I give it 2.5/5 stars total.
