This was my very first Karin Slaughter book and all I can say is I'll definitely be reading more of her work. This book is gut-wrenching and I couldn't put it down, I actually finished it in just a couple days.
The depravity did make me take small breaks from the book at times, but I think that's what makes a good horror/thriller story (if done correctly). I grew attached to the characters and I even ended up crying at one point in the book... which is saying something because books hardly ever make me cry.
I highly recommend Pretty Girls but I would suggest looking up trigger warnings beforehand.
