Soul of Glass and Fire by Arianne Nicks

5.0

I completely devoured this book.
The first book of the Soul Erosion series ended with a major cliffhanger, and left us with so many questions. So I was eager to start the second book and it really captivated me. I could have read this book in a day if I didn’t have other things to do, but still finished it in 3 or 4 days.
The Soul of Glass and Fire picks up the storyline right where we left off, and through the book we got all our questions answered, tho it also raised a few more.
But we are learning the reasons and causes along with Sophie, bit by bit, so the information never gets overwhelming. This way I was always at the edge of my seat, because I never got the full story only a bits of it here and there.
Sophie goes through an inevitable character development, and I think that was much needed, it also felt realistic, hence she doesn’t change dramatically overnight, it is more of her starting to notice her own flaws, things she need to work on and maybe even change about herself or her own ways. I also believe that a bigger change will awaiting in the third book.
And the chemistry that these two characters share, omg, and the sassy flirting…, I ate it up all. And I loved the two pov in this book too.
Definitely an enemies to lovers, slow burn romance, sprinkled with a bit of forced proximity.
This book made me feel all the emotions, the heartbreak, the fear, suffering, the healing and love, and heartbreak again.
When I reached the end of the book and I saw there’s only a few pages left and the main conflict is just growing by every page I’ve read I already knew that this ending will be even more frustrating than the first one, tbh I almost cried.

So in conclusion, I think you should really read this series. Like I said in the first book’s review, totally underrated, it needs more hype. Also I desperately NEED the third book.
