Ahmed sure did have an year, the poor kid was really put through the ringer! This story was such a great library pick, and I was very invested in Ahmed's well being throughout. Also, I loved all of the books chosen for his reading class when I was growing up, so there was a fun nostalgic element for me! Overall, I highly recommend this for middle grade lovers and for teachers!
