Constantly torn between whether this one or Gentleman’s Gambit is my favourite of the series. Lucian is such a perfect hero, especially because he’s a socialist. We need more out and proud leftist MMCs in romance! These two change and grow so much over the story and the payoff is so great. One thing that is so great about this book is the care and respect Dunmore brings to the Scottish setting and characters, even having Hattie reckon with her fetishisation of Lucian. I love how this flips a lot of the expectations of a Scottish romance.
