What Lies Between Us by John Marrs

5.0

What actually just happened?! So I’ve just turned the last page and I’m a bit like WHAT.

Okay so obviously from the blurb you get the idea that this is about a dysfunctional daughter-mum relationship. It’s a lot more than that. I want to say first of all, I personally LOVED the last chapter and epilogue of this book. I think it really did price everything together perfectly.

I’m sure there are lots of holes and times when this story is just unbelievable but it didn’t make my read any less enjoyable. I couldn’t stop reading. I’ve been looking forward to reading this every evening. I will say, it is dark. Anyone that could be triggered by mental and physical abuse, give this one a miss.

Anyone who enjoys a twisty thriller, I recommend completely. It’s told in the view points of both mum and daughter which I thought worked really well in the first half to get to know each character. But the narration style truly shone as the truth surfaced, it was a great way of writing. I’m sure it took a lot of work to make this all fall into place.

Love it! It’s a 4.5 from!
