i can confidently say this is my favorite book in the series. i love willa’s confidence and i love cade’s grumpiness. reading about willa form a bond with lucas was so heartwarming. the chemistry was undeniable and the build up between cade and willa was worth it. i found myself relating a lot to cade and his fear of heartbreak. i think when we’ve experienced deep wounded heartbreak it can leave us closed off. growing up as the responsible child myself i felt a lot of his grief about the “maybes” he had. being the eldest child is exhausting. especially when you have to grow up too fast.
all in all i think elsie silver outdid herself with this book. flawless was amazing but she really raised the bar with heartless. this series has crack in it and i thank elsie for her service
