This was just bloody, tournament fun. Red Queen meets the Hunger Games in a fun mix of love and rebellion. I'll start this off with saying that I ATE THIS UP. Kai's yearning for Pae, even before she loved him, was literally the best, along with the balls and unique trials (The map actually came in lots of handy!). I also loved the supporting cast and unique abilities shown. The trials are also paced beautifully, which makes this an even more enjoyable read. I will say that the romance isn't the main point until Kai has that nightmare, to which the sparks start building a bonfire. Otherwise, a enjoyable and fun read!
