Probably a 4 star because I think personal feelings are holding my rating back. Reading this made me uncomfortable af lowkey and Ava Reid has a problem of repeating certain words a lot of times. In her other book the Wolf and the Woodsman it was the word “flushed.” In this one it was “breasts” and many breast related metaphors and the main character talking about how ugly she is all the time. The romance was also love at first sight between 2 traumatized people so not my taste either ig. I think I liked it tho and Ava’s prose is very pretty and I’ll keep reading her books.
