This book took a while to get started. The characterisation of many of the women was slightly irritating; constantly describing Salander as 'anorexically skinny', each woman being described as either beautiful or not, etc. But these seem to be involunatry internal biases of the authour that are a sign of the times he lived during. You can clearly tell from the story that he is a feminist and wrote it with the best intent. Beyond page 300 the plot is compelling and extraordinarily disturbing. I didn't find the Wennerstrom affair side of the story very interesting. On the other hand the commentary on the mistreatment and abuse of eccentic individuals by laws which 'work on average but not on individuals', and those that exploit them, was very interesting. The writing style was simple and easy to digest. Overall a good summer read.
