The Butterfly Garden
by Dot Hutchison
dark
emotional
sad
medium-paced
A garden protected by glass. Full of lush foliage and beautiful scenery, it is his pride and joy. It is where he retreats. It is where he keeps his most prized possessions, his Butterflies. That’s what he calls them after he traps them, marks them and keeps them.

What a beautifully written, sad book. I felt so strongly for all of the girls in the garden. Each one held such a unique quality to them that was woven beautifully throughout the end. I loved the interview scenes as well, which was actually surprising for me. However, I get how it played a role in the story, but I HATED the weird little romance and ending was kind of too climatic or not climatic enough, I can’t decide. Overall, I did enjoy it and I may actually try the other two in the series.
