A Court of Mist and Fury by Sarah J. Maas

5.0

A Court of Mist and Fury goes above and beyond. I don’t have the words to adequately express how amazing A Court of Mist and Fury is. How magnificently beautiful. How slow-burningly sorrowful yet joyous at the same time. I’m at a lack of words for describing how it truly made me feel. This book resonates with my soul and my heart so deeply, it just filled me with awe from within.

It’s crazy to think that this series started as a Beauty and the Beast retelling. In the wake of Amarantha’s downfall, everyone is trying to pick up the pieces. She had kept people Under the Mountian for 50 years and now thanks to Feyre everyone is free. And let’s not forget about the bargain she made with Rhysand, High Lord of the Night Court. In exchange for saving her life, Feyre must spend one week each month with Rhysand at the Night Court.

Feyre’s journey is incredibly moving. The main part of the plot is her fighting to feel okay, to put herself back together. She refuses to give up. Her story is bursting with hope and love, and many times I was moved to tears, both happy and sad. This story is for anyone who has ever felt broken. Feyre is screaming at us that no matter how broken you feel it is possible to heal and you must never give up.

As for the other characters, Feyre’s new family, they are all such heartbreakingly beautiful people. They are good and kind and strong. They don’t deserve any of the crap they went through, and it is quite literally distressing to watch. I honestly just want them to live happily ever after because they deserve it. They have all sacrificed so much, and they deserve everything good in the world.

And that ending!!!!!! There were so many plot twists, and betrayals after betrayals. It’s completely insane. You simply tear through those last few chapters.

If you havent read this series yet, honestly what are you waiting for. You don’t even know what you’re missing.

5/5 stars 🙂
