this book started out slow but it really picked up about halfway through. the main couple barely had any chemistry and if not for the constant reminders from the writing, i honestly wouldn’t have guessed i was supposed to want them to end up together. other than that the plot was actually genuinely interesting 

this authors favorite phrase is “gore-slicked” and they sure love similes
