An eye-opening journey into the world of transsexuality in the US. Does a great job of informing, educating, and normalizing queer experiences in everyday life - showing the multiple levels of oppression, aggression and alienation faced by trans people today.
The story felt a bit formulaic at times, as if the situations had been contrived to teach a certain lesson or highlight a particular issue. However, the characters and the overall insights of the book were strong enough to make this a minor quibble.
