This book has such great ideas and concepts and I'm not sure what exactly didn't work for me. I want to say it's the writing though it's not like it was bad in any way. However the more I read and the further I progressed in the book, the more difficult and exhausting it was to keep reading.
I see why some people might dnf at some point during the first half.

I did thoroughly enjoyed Hemlock Falls and the way it was build I guess. The book mentioned that the city (?) is similar to a university campus and you could definitely tell.

I liked all the characters and despite Winnie, our main girl, being 16, she  wasn't annoying and I never really felt like I was too old to read it (despite being much older than Winnie 👵🏻). I also felt like the writing just brought her more to life.

The book itself takes place over a week's time and while you get introduced to all these concepts and how things are run in Hemlock Falls, at the end of those 300 pages, you don't really get a conclusion to basically anything of the more mysterious parts of the story, but rather leave the book with more questions to be hopefully answered in the sequel.
