Toffee by Sarah Crossan
3.0

Toffee is an interesting piece focusing on themes of friendship and identity as well as domestic violence. Personally, I'm not a huge fan of the way it was written, in poetry, although it was unique in many ways and somewhat enjoyable I found some aspects, such as character development were lacking slightly and the novel itself seemed to try a little too hard to relate to young readers by the continued use of drugs and alcohol without addressing this as an issue.
