She's an icon, she's a legend, her style is brilliant, but not for everyone.

And probably not for me?
I enjoyed the plot and her choice of words. I adore a good methaphore, and attention to details.
But the pace is killing me. 200-ish pages took me MONTHS to finish! I had to read it like a page a day to wrap it up somehow. I'll give it another chance with "To the Lighthouse" or "Orlando" (I loved the movie).

The characters are probably more fascinating than the story (where Mrs.Dalloway prepares for the party and reminices about the old days). The antiwar plotline just crushed me in the best sense possible
(as a ukrainian suffering from war in real life, I felt SO MUCH for the poor Septimus and Rezia). And the kiss scene with Sally... as a bi woman this scene now lives rent free in my head forever
