I wasn't sure where this story was going to continue, but I liked the new characters introduced into this story. I think that Hanna Donnelly's background and upbringing was vital to this story and was fun watching her put her training into action. It is a little far fetched that she was able to get away with everything she did and live to tell the tale. Same things goes for Nik and his story line. I liked that he is the known "bad boy", who is just a major flirt and gets the girl.
Was I a little suspicious of Jackson Merrick being Rapier? Yes, but not until he kept randomly getting access to communicate with Hanna when all other accounted were down. I liked that twist of the book, especially when they came face to face again and he got attacked by the "alien" like species and Hanna and Nik were able to get away. He definitely redeemed himself at the end of the book when he sacrificed himself so that they could get away. An extra applause to him for summitting one final report saying that he killed them all so that Leann Frobisher thought she was going to get away for all of the destruction and mass murders she committed.
I am glad that Isaac Grant made it out alive, because I think Kady needed her father to be alive to continue on. I think it was sad that there wasn't even a tiny sliver of hope that Charles Donnelly, Hanna's dad, making it out alive. However, I think his death was the main fighting force for why she fought so hard and was able to achieve everything she did. I hope that I. Grant becomes an adoptive father to her when this series ends because I feel like her and Kady would be great friends. (and the boys would just be there with them haha) I'm also glad that Ella made it out alive as well and that her death was faked too. She reminds me of Kady in the fact that she is so young but somehow smart enough with technology that she was able to hack everything. They must be real geniuses.
I know nothing about space, time holes, or anything of the topics in this book but this book was extremely entertaining and I had a lot of fun going with the flow. The whole things with Nik accidentally going to a different world and being replaced with himself was fun and also great plot telling because It made us the readers actually believe he was dead. And that made me sad at the time but it was good writing to me. It was also neat that in each worlds, Nik died and Hanna died. That made it interesting. I am a little unsure how I feel about Aiden being able to talk to them both because I don't understand the time hole thing completely, but I thought it was cool to see the side by side conversations and actions between Aiden and both Hanna and Nik.
