The first of the Hawthorne books! I love the Horowitz-Hawthorne duo because even though they seem like complete opposites, they work (surprisingly) well together. The plot in this book had me completely invested and some topics brought up some very strong emotions within me. Despite some of the darker areas, Horowitz's writing style is witty, charming and inventive all throughout. I'm excited to see his plans for the rest of this series.
