The Bromance Book Club by Lyssa Kay Adams

5.0

"Romance novels are primarily written by women for women, and they are entirely about how they want to be treated and what they want out of life and in a relationship. We read them to be more comfortable expressing ourselves and to look at things from their perspective."

I adored this book so much that I bought the physical copy a few days after reading it just so I could annotate it. It immediately became an all-time favorite romance for me and I went into it with pretty high expectations. It was so refreshing to read a romance book where the guy is pretty much the main character. And my favorite trope is the second chance trope between married couples. I eat it up every time.

- The Bromance Book Club follows a professional baseball player, named Gavin and his wife Thea. At the beginning of the book he is getting wasted because Thea told him that she wanted a divorce. He ends up getting recruited by his best friend, Del to join this all men's bookclub, where the only thing they read in romance novels. Which they call manuals, because they are using them to help learn how to better or fix their relationships.
The tropes in this book are second chance, forced proximity, lovers to enemies to lovers, and small town! The book took place throughout Thanksgiving and Christmas, so you should definitely add this book to your November and December TBR!

This book has my favorite friend group! Mack is my favorite character, he was hilarious bro! I LOVE him! All of the side characters were so interesting and distinctive. I can't wait to read all of the other books. I know this is soon to be a favorite series! The found family was beautiful!
- Gavin had a stutter so this book also had good representation for that!

I obviously also LOVED the family element of this book. Gavin and Thea have twin daughters and they are so cute. There were so many cutesy family moments and scenes. Ugh. It was so cute!

The only person I didn't like was freaking Liv bro. She was infuriating in my opinion. And I am so upset that Mack's book is with HER! It's literally going to be my absolute favorite character and my absolute least favorite character. So hopefully she has some character growth so that I still love Mack's book. Because I could deal with her as a side character, but if she doesn't have a glowup, I don't know if I'll be able to do it with her as a main character! So with me luck-

Anyway, I loved this book! Go read it guys. The easiest five stars I have given. It was quite literally near perfection!
