The Bone Queen by Alison Croggon

5.0

"Maybe you can have different kinds of home."

I think this is the closest I'll ever get to another Lord of the Rings, which is fine because Lord of the Rings cannot be replicated. But the Book of Pellinor is a new favourite and I really can't wait to read the rest of the series.
If I had to compare Lord of the Rings and the Bone Queen, I'd say Cadvan reminds me a lot of Boromir, Nelac of Gandalf, Selmana of Sam Gamgee, and Dernhil with a Rivendell elf. Imagine a Fellowship with those characters, and you have what the Bone Queen quartet felt like.
