Bitterzoet by Jennifer L. Armentrout
4.0

Bitter sweet love is the novella in the dark elements trilogy. It takes place a number of years before the first part White hot kiss. This series has already been published by Harpercollins, but has now been given a new look by Zomer & Keuning.

Three years ago they were best friends, grew up together, and even some love blossomed between them. Until one day Dez suddenly disappeared. Jasmine was devastated and was therefore tongue-tied when Dez suddenly returned. Where has he been?

Upon arrival, Dez immediately proposes a partnership, this is an engagement, as it were. Jasmine has doubts about this proposal. Can she still trust Dez after he just left? She decides to use the seven-day cooling-off period to test Dez. Seven days to conquer her heart. Will Jasmine come to trust Dez again? Will Dez manage to win Jasmine her heart for good?

Bitter sweet love contains an abundance of love. The story between Dez and Jasmine is told briefly but to the point. Because the story contains a lot of love, it is really a story to melt away.

The writing style is very smooth, but the addition of love makes it even smoother. I flew through the story.
Because Bitter sweet love is a novella, the characters are only worked out superficially. Their emotions, on the other hand, are always clearly described. Jasmine has a strong personality and knows what she wants. Dez, on the other hand, also knows what he wants. He wants Jasmine.
It's nice to read how these characters interact and how their will is expressed through demands.

Because the book was published by a new publisher, the cover has also been completely changed. The cover of Harpercollins is light in color, with a girl in the foreground. Zomer & Keuning has decided to decorate the cover full of color and beautiful details. In the new cover, black wings can be seen on a wooden surface. I personally like the new cover more than the old cover because of the use of color.
