This is my best friend's favourite book, so I read it on her recommendation and was not sure what to expect. However, it blew me away!
Violet is thrown into a world she doesn't want and her strength or characterand her morals shine through everything she does. Plus, as a reader with a disability, it was refreshing to read disability rep that didn't feel forced into the plot, but instead was a natural element of the story.
The romance and spice were well written, with a balance of a slow burn and the pay off of open door scenes.
The other characters and the world also feel well rounded and fleshed out. I enjoyed how some characters were redeemed and some were nasty the whole time, and the way characters orbited the plot, being more or less important at times. A lot of characters die though, try not to get too attached!!
The bonus alternative POV chapters at the end were great too, adding an extra dimension and a new perspective.
I've bought the second book already and can't wait to start reading!
