4.5 stars, rounded down bc everyone else always rounds up, so balance.

This was surprisingly good. I say that because it was one of those Amazon first reads, which I find notoriously hit or miss.

It’s one of those books that, once the action starts (which is pretty close to the start of the book), is hard to put down. It’s near future sci-fi with as much—probably more—focus on the fiction, and therefore the story, as the science, which is how I like my sci-fi.

Even though the content and the genre-niche are nothing alike it has the feel of some A.M. Dellamonica’s work, and it’s hard to get much better than that. (For the curious, I say nothing alike bc AMD’s work tends to be much more speculative-fiction meets fantasy, and this was definitely not those things.)

Would 10/10 read more by Fitzsimmons.
