The Wicked Widow by Beatriz Williams, Beatriz Williams
3.0

3 stars.

I hate that I'm only giving this one 3 stars because Beatriz Williams is one of my all-time favorite authors. But I am mad at this book. I appreciate the author knows she has a built-in audience for these stories and that we will all keep buying them. But this book ended with the MOST ANNOYING CLIFFHANGER EVER. It was the novel equivalent of Who Shot J.R. I'm not here for that nonsense.

It is the third in the Wicked City series of her books, and linked with the Schuyler Sisters stories in various ways. I would definitely recommend reading The Wicked City and The Wicked Redhead before picking this up. So here is my review. This is a great book. It is a wonderful story, told exactly as Beatriz Williams does. I would caution those less hearty souls that this one is FULL of sex, and rather detailed descriptions, not just allusions to the deed. That bugged me a little bit because it felt like she added it to appeal to a different audience.

But here's the thing. I'm sure I will love this one when the next one comes out and I have it in context. But at the moment I am just annoyed and I want to know what happens next.
