Not much happened in the book. For being a duology, it was mainly stunted world building. The main relationships/love interest was only around for sex so no real connection was made. Then a second love interest is thrown in, in much the same manner. It gave strong ACOTAR vibes, but not as well done. We’re also thrown into a school setting, for really no reason.
The world and magic systems isn’t anything revolutionary, but interesting enough. I wish this was more flushed out. I’ll read the next book, because I found this entertaining enough. But I probably won’t do a re-read.
