The Winter Lodge by Susan Wiggs

3.0

Once again, I felt there were too many characters. However, after reading this book and the description of the next book, I can see that the many characters are necessary because they tend to be the focus of the other books in the series. Also, I'm noticing a trend in these two first two books, where people with history tend to fall in love. Maybe things will change in the rest of the series, because that storyline will get old.

I didn't like Daisy in this book. I'm not sure if it's because she's young, so I find it hard to relate to the teen angst now, or if she's just annoying. But I really enjoyed all of the other characters in the book, especially Rourke. I have to say I was surprised by some of the events in the book, which doesn't happen often. So I enjoyed this book more than the last. I look forward to the rest of the series.
