Bloody Bank Heist by Tim Miller

Thank you to audiobookreviewer.com for providing me with a free copy of this audiobook in exchange for an honest review.

Going by the title you may think this is a book all about a bank robbery, but it is actually only a minor part of the plot.

Darren and Jenny have been struggling financially since Darren lost his job. Desperately out of options and forced to move in with Jenny's brother Michael, an ex-con who still owes money to some shady people, they are easily persuaded to rob a bank. Unfortunately, the raid does not quite go as planned. They are forced to kidnap the bank manager in order to make their getaway. But the bank manager is not innocent either. Far from it. On top of that, the people Michael is indebted to, want their money. I can't really give any more content without spoiling the entire plot.
But what ensues is an excellent horror story with fast-paced action. The violence is extremely graphic and gruesome as you would expect from a horror movie. Definitely not for the faint of heart!

This was a quick, easy listen at just over 2 hours. It held my attention throughout.
The characters seemed authentic. Considering this was a very short story, I guess it is rather difficult to create more depth, so it was fine as an entertaining listen. The duration of the audiobook was actually just right. I enjoyed the gory details for a couple of hours but any longer would have become too much of the graphic violence. Though totally unrealistic, I really enjoyed the vigilante ending.

The narrator, Joe Hempel, has a nice voice that is pleasant to listen to, though it took me a little while to get used to the voice he used for Jenny. There could have been more distinction between the different voices used. Pacing, intonation and accents were fine. There were no issues with the production.

Recommended if you enjoy extreme blood splatter and horror.
