The Hen Who Dreamed She Could Fly by Sun-mi Hwang
5.0
This is a delightful, touching, and inspiring little allegory, easily read in a couple of hours. My mother loaned it to me and I've now insisted my teenaged daughter read it before I give it back. It's a paean to individuality, to the sacrifices of parenthood, and to the ability to love and give of oneself across the barriers of seemingly insurmountable differences. If there's one book I'm going to recommend to everyone this year, it will be The Hen Who Dreamed She Could Fly.
