Over all the plot is decent, but it falls apart a bit in the details. The word building is a bit rough, and it doesn't feel well lived in. The main characters continued reliance on violence both real and imagined got stale quickly. I like a good twist and it is even better when you don't see it coming but they fall flat and felt over contrived to me.  It felt like it wants to be Children of Blood and Bone in space, but it falls short
