Hero by Katie Buckley

4.0

This book reads a lot like a diary or journal, a string of thoughts and memories recorded as Hero explains her many experiences with love. I found myself agreeing with Hero many times, but it was hard to fully connect with her. Buckley accurately describes how sometimes men treat women as objects to dominate and objectify – the expectation that women are around just to serve men, and that if a woman has any aspirations that don't include marriage and babies, there is something wrong with her. I don't know what I expected going into this, but I thoroughly enjoyed it. Maybe Hero is my new hero.
