Annabelle Agnelli has started to run, and her goal is to run across the United States to Washington D.C. The only clue we have to why Annabelle running is that something tragic happened in her past. She'll set out with Grandpa Ed in his RV, and with her PR team, she'll gain national support for her cause. Throughout her journey and memories, we will discover more about the tragedy, why Annabelle is running, and find out if her heart can heal.
This book is written in third person and, as time goes on, we slowly get more hints and clue's as to what happened in Annabelle's past. We see Annabelle struggle with her flashbacks and memories, as she tries to block The Taker out and also see her start to kindle a friendship with a boy named Luke that she finds along that way, thanks to Grandpa Ed. But as I found out more about what happened in Annabelle's past, I began to realize how easy it is to connect with this book because of the subject matter. I'm not going to say what the plot is about because I feel like you need to go into this book blind. I personally connected with this because I had my own version of "the taker", and I could see parts of me in Annabelle. In the end, I ended up crying for the last thirty pages of the book and then about thirty minutes after. Why you may ask? This one quote truly did me in ". . . and I was the one who was free." In the end, this book will make you cry, but it will also make you want to run and join Annabelle for her cause.
