An incredible and similarly dystopian world like that of Farenheit 451, but sets forth a (imo) much more complex theory of personal & collective memory and how they connect to a sense of self.
If Bradbury's Farenheit 451 was a blazing fire that ripped through your mind and memory, then Ogawa's Memory Police is an island in far distance, fading gradually but surely into the fog.
A short reading experience that will quickly disappear from you, but the memory of it is not likely to escape me for a long time.
I savored and enjoyed this much, much more than I expected.
