ARC Review: Chasing Riddick by Alexandra St. Pierre

Wow. Just… wow. I honestly don’t even know how to put into words how much this book wrecked me and healed me all in one. I felt everything while reading this. I laughed out loud, I swooned so hard, and then I sobbed with ugly tears at 1:00 a.m. because there was absolutely no way I could put this book down. I read it in one sitting and was completely captivated from beginning to end.

This is my second book by Alexandra St. Pierre, and she is officially an auto-buy author for me. Both reads have been solid 5-star experiences, but Chasing Riddick? It hit differently. It gutted me and healed me all at once. There’s a plot twist in here I did not see coming, and I’m still thinking about it.

This small-town California surfer romance follows Finn and Riddick, and it checks all my favorite trope boxes:
🏄‍♂️ Grumpy x Sunshine
🏄‍♂️ Mentor/Mentee
🏄‍♂️ Age Gap
🏄‍♂️ ADHD rep
🏄‍♂️ Unconventional HEA

The grumpy sunshine vibes were top tier. Finn is the ultimate golden retriever, so full of life, optimism, and relentless charm, doing everything he can to get a smile out of Riddick. And Riddick? Grumpy, stoic, authoritative, and yet the sexual tension was absolutely palpable. And the filth that comes out of his mouth? 10/10, no notes.

You know when you read a book and immediately know it’s going to stay with you for a while? Yeah. This is one of those books. I will definitely be thinking about Chasing Riddick long after I’ve turned the last page.

If you’re looking for a romance that will make you feel truly, deeply, and completely, this is it. Just be prepared. You’re going to laugh, cry, and maybe question your emotional stability in the best way.

Thank you to Alexandra St. Pierre for the eARC in exchange for my honest review.
