As an ultramarathoner, I was pretty stoked to receive this book as a pre-release giveaway. When it showed up, I was pleased with the quality of the book, paper, and the pictures inside. But, then I started reading and it was downhill from there. Arzon couldn't seem to decide whether she was writing for a brand-new runner, a middle distance runner, or an ultra runner, so her advice was all over the place. Also, complaining about how awful you did in a marathon that is loads faster than the average person runs is seriously annoying. I think she wanted this book to be an everything to everyone running bible, but unfortunately the book suffered from having no real direction or focus because of that.

I received a copy of this book through the Goodreads giveaways.
