I think that marketing this book as a romance, even as a romantasy has done it a disservice. I think its a good book, a strong story that weaves through all three of the timelines and explores the idea of love from an interesting point of view. The ending isn't that of a romance and I think its the thing I love most about the book. I like when stories examine the messiness of what is to be human and in love, and this book does it well.
