Little White Lies
by Philippa East
Hmm 2.5 for me, I was hoping for more of a gripping thriller but it didn't get to that point and the ending was a bit absurd and falling flat...
The mum of Abigail is a bit annoying constantly repeating how she wants her child who has been through so much trauma to be 'her best self' or version... And the way both Abigail and Jess kept remarking on Abigail's weight I didn't like.
The ending did not come to a climax, the way Abigail says it's worse if they didn't mean to do the mistake and that it's their job to take care of her... Only to lead to everything being happy in France :/ there isn't much show of progress between their relationship.
Overall it was a bit slow to read and get to an answer.

Couple of things, I thought it would've been more engaging having Abigail narrate chapters instead of Jess, she's a bit obsessed with Abigail which was not necessary for the plot. At least with Abigail's pov we could've had linking flashbacks or something. The mum of Abigail is a bit annoying constantly repeating how she wants her child who has been through so much trauma to be 'her best self' or version...
