You can’t have non-stop chaos and cliffhangers (well, you can, but our poor hearts need a break), and this installment definitely took its time laying the groundwork.
While it didn’t grip me quite like the first four books—except for that last hour (of the audiobook) , which was chef’s kiss—it still served an important role: setting the stage for what’s clearly going to be an epic finale. Kennedy is no doubt playing the long game, and I’m here for it. Bring on book six—I’m ready for the fireworks.
