Cathy's Book by Cathy Brigg, Sean Stewart, Jordan Weisman

4.0

Cathy has a wild imagination and a keen eye for detail. Her best friend, Emma, is the logical one and Cathy's the artist of impossible dreams. Cathy's world is falling apart: her boyfriend broke up with her, insomnia has overtaken her nights, school is a chore that only Emma can love, her Mom works too hard to pay the bills, and maybe--just maybe!--her paranoid delusions about Victor aren't as delusional as she thought...

It's a mystery with flashes of comedy, doodles, heartache, dash of romance, fights for honor and crazy antics that lead to impossible answers. If you want an interesting adventure, you'll find one in Cathy's Book.

The front cover tells you that its Cathy's Book and to call 650-266-8233 if you find the book. The back has a note from Cathy to Emma. If you're NOT Emma, don't read the journal. If you are Emma, crack the sucker up and find out what's really been going on.

Emma:
"Tell them everything," she said. "Print out your diary and give them the letters and make them dial all the phone numbers and show them your sketches, because you know what?" she said, with her special Emma smile. "They won't believe a word of it."

I recommend getting the hardback version of this book. It comes with goodies! You can handle some of the evidence that Cathy finds during her "investigations". The book is full of drawings, comments, doodles, thoughts, records, website addresses, phone numbers and more. You really CAN look stuff up online, call the numbers to hear a message and piece together the answers as Cathy does.
