AGGGM was a pretty good story, but it is definitely a slow burn. I always worry about these sorts of mystery novels because you spend so much time reading it without really knowing if there will be a good twist at the end, but thankfully this one was pretty satisfying. Although the killer reveal worked out a bit too perfectly, but I do appreciate the author’s commitment to detail. One other thing I liked about the ending was that it feels like a good place to end the story. Although there are a few loose ends left over for a sequel, the first book is a perfectly decent as a standalone mystery too (which is probably how I will leave it).
The novel was also pretty good at creating morally gray characters, which is always interesting. I do wish the romantic relationship was developed a bit better also… The relationship was cute, but the love interest(Ravi) seems somewhat one-dimensional (I guess I can’t complain too much because it isn’t a romance anyways).
I also thought the title of the novel was interesting because I've never really thought Pip was much of a “good girl” (she’s pretty reckless and insensitive actually—just casually destroying people’s friendships for the sake of solving her mystery? ), but maybe that's the point...
