The Second Stranger
by Martin Griffin
Slow at the beginning, but suspenseful. Read it all in one go.
The premise reminded me of Christie's Three Blind Mice and storm-bound crimes are common enough. Griffin maintains a steady pace, not allowing you to be certain of any of the characters.
Quite a good read.
