This was cute. I really enjoyed Jaimie and Wes’s journey. I think I really liked that the author didn’t draw things out. The initial reintroduction wasn’t full of angst and made into 20
Chapters like I know some authors would have done. This book flowed. It had a bit of the formula to it but it didn’t feel formula which to me is the important part.
I didn’t like that the spice was so oral heavy. Not that it was bad. Also if word prostate was used anymore I might have hurled. It just felt kinda clinical and falls into the “there’s a button to push that makes guys crazy” trope.
I would have liked a little more to Wes as well. The story really seems to revolve around Jaime figuring himself out. I wish we’d seen Wes go through a parallel journey. It would have been enjoyable to see more of Wes exploring how he felt about the burgeoning relationship as the one who was previously the no relationship guy. We get a lot of him always being into Jaime but not a lot of seeing the walls come down around this persona he built to run from that.
Overall this was enjoyable and not too heavy. I know there is a follow up but where this ended could be a great place to leave it for some. I’ll go ahead and read the next though as I found this easy and pleasant enough.
