Mrs Middleton by Melissa Tereze
DID NOT FINISH: 56%

I don't even know how I got this far into the book...

1) The plot is like a Swiss cheese. Most of the things were inadequately developed.
2) No connection between the characters/felt forced; Honestly, they feel more lust than love towards one another. Also, there was quite a lot of conversation, in which they declared their love for one another, that often felt tedious to read through. However, we rarely saw how this love was expressed. Overall the relationship/connection between them was bland and rushed.
3) The dynamics between the daughter and mother were not well developed imo (
e.g., at some point the daughter discoveres the forbidden affair and stops talking to the mom - the mom has inadequate reaction and is not trying to make things up with her daughter.
The mother acts quite selfishly and is quite passive-aggressive in the way she defends her relationship in front of her daughter. Basically the mom guilt trips the daughter.
4) Some cringe moments that were a bit..
5) The sex scenes/parts felt like they came straight out of a cheap lesbian porn.
