Summer Hours by Amy Mason Doan
4.0
Swooning over this perfect beach read!
The Summer Hours was everything you could want in a juicy love triangle, a road trip, a wedding, a coming of age book, college life, first jobs and first times - it's got it all!
We first meet Becc as she's on a road trip - with a mysterious passenger. The story goes back and forth from what happens along the ride, and also back to how she got in this awkward place. There are things that Becc did, careless and carefree - that have placed her in some very strained circumstances with a friend, that has changed so many things in her life along the way. And she wonders "what if" - as we all do some time in our lives - so we follow to find out who her passenger is and if second chances are a thing of the past.
The writing - incredible. The way the story weaves through a significant span of Becc's life has you become so attached. Not only to her, but to every single character along the way. There's some mystery and suspense, really endearing friendships and mentors along the way, and an ending that will warm your heart and having you grabbing for the tissues!
I loved this book and although it was my first of Amy's books - it will certainly not be my last!
